چکیده
A patellar luxation and concomitant cranial cruciate ligament rupture is a common pathology in dogs. Diagnosis based on clinical evidence of stifle joint instability. However, diagnostic imaging required to assess the number skeletal deformities signs Surgical options include both soft tissue osseous techniques, although, most cases, combination multiple procedures necessary correct restore stability. Complication rates are generally low, but can reluxation implant-associated complications. This article describes dogs, including presentation diagnosis, discusses current treatment options.

Feasibility of utilizing the patellar ligament angle for assessing cranial cruciate ligament rupture in dogs
The patellar ligament angle (PLA) was assessed in 105 normal stifle joints of 79 dogs and 33 stifle joints of 26 dogs with a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL). The PLA of stifles with complete CrCL rupture was significantly lower than that of normal stifles, particularly at a flexion angle of 60 ˜ 80° in both plain and stress views. If the PLA was < 90.55° on the stress view with a 60 ˜...
متن کاملDegenerative changes of the cranial cruciate ligament harvested from dogs with cranial cruciate ligament rupture
Degenerative cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture is characterized histologically by degenerating extracellular matrix (ECM) and chondroid metaplasia. Here, we describe the progression of chondroid metaplasia and the changes in the expression of ECM components in canine CCL rupture (CCLR). CCLs from 26 stifle joints with CCLR (CCLR group) and normal CCLs from 12 young beagles (control group)...
متن کاملMeniscal injury in dogs with cranial cruciate ligament rupture.
Meniscal damage is common in dogs with naturally occurring rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL). Appropriate diagnosis and treatment of meniscal injuries is critical to avoid chronic lameness in these patients. Given the frequency, expense, and clinical importance of meniscal injuries, a thorough understanding of the meniscus is important for general practitioners and veterinary surg...
متن کاملTibial tuberosity transposition-advancement for treatment of medial patellar luxation and concomitant cranial cruciate ligament disease in the dog
Objective: To report surgical technique, morphometric effects and clinical outcomes for tibial tuberosity transposition-advancement (TTTA), sulcoplasty and para-patellar fascial imbrication for management of concomitant medial patellar luxation (MPL) and cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) disease in 32 dogs. Study design: Case series. Methods: A previous technique for tibial tuberosity advancement...
متن کاملContralateral Cruciate Survival in Dogs with Unilateral Non-Contact Cranial Cruciate Ligament Rupture
BACKGROUND Non-contact cranial cruciate ligament rupture (CrCLR) is an important cause of lameness in client-owned dogs and typically occurs without obvious injury. There is a high incidence of bilateral rupture at presentation or subsequent contralateral rupture in affected dogs. Although stifle synovitis increases risk of contralateral CrCLR, relatively little is known about risk factors for ...
